him up, getting him to be an artist. out of the blue, a phone call came from my brother, barry, and said, i want to produce you. and within two weeks or something, i was in miami to do a studio. the first time with a real studio microphone, and he was petrified. but, you know, barry was there and guided him through and helped him with lyrics. he was very receptive to new ideas. and it didn t take him long to, you know, find another groove. for so long you and me been finding each other for so long the bee gees point of view was about having hit records and being on the radio. so, the greatest gift that you can give to your younger brother would be to give him that success, to write songs with him, to teach him to be a star.
the enormous success of it? yes, i can say it s changed our lives. the bee gees act by their success. we were creates this sound, but we didn t know what it was going to do. it did end up with them having half the top ten with these songs. it was extraordinary. had the same domination the beatles had in the 60s in america. they were just everywhere. from a distance i was speaking to one of my fend ares the other day as he was cleaning my shoes. stingwood said, let s give the band half a plank or a percentage. that s a tiny amount of money. when you sell theater, it turns out to be big money. what are you doing with these millions of dollars? what are you doing with your millions of dollars?
he was always tagging along, hoping that one day he would do this too. he would like to sing. there was a lot of hits in that short time. through all the work we did in clubs and everything, we made the most of it. very talented group of men, the bee gees. once again, the fabulous bee gees. get involved with the bee gees. give it up. by then, we were flying. and just most amazing experience. doesn t matter what your name is i can do a million things to you as a pop group, this was the biggest moment of our life. never expected. hoped for, but never really expected.
