A decade ago on 26 November 2010, family and friends congregated in Otjiwarongo in the Otjozondjupa Region to witness what promised – at least from the look on the faces of Kristofina Amutenya and Petrus Haufiku – to be a lasting union.
Vows were exchanged, including the routine promise that through the good and the bad times, they would remain faithful to their marriage.
The happy couple vowed to have and to hold from that day on; for better, for worse, for richer or for poorer.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is currently searching for two men in relation to the Fishrot corruption scandal.
Windhoek City Police employee Philipus Mwaapopi and Otjozondjupa regional council deputy director Otneel Shuudifonya were supposed to appear in court on Monday, but the pair could not be traced, ACC said.
This after the Prosecutor-General indicated that the two men, as well as runaway lawyer Maren de Klerk, be arrested for their perceived roles in the multimillion-dollar scandal.
“Just wait, we are trying to trace these people,” ACC director-general Paulus Noa said.
The duo was meant to appear in court with their co-accused - former fisheries minister Bernhardt Esau, former justice minister Sacky Shanghala, former Investec employees James Hatuikulipi and Ricardo Gustavo, former Fishcor CEO Mike Nghipunya, Tamson Hatuikulipi and Pius Mwatelulo.

A 28-year-old man suspected of preying on women in Walvis Bay’s Kuisebmond township was arrested on Friday.
His modus operandi was to break into the women’s shacks while they were sleeping and rape them at gunpoint.
The accused, Michael Michael, made his first court appearance in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning, and was positively identified by one of his victims.
According to the deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, he was arrested after the police received a tip-off from the public.
