<strong>Foreigners sell NT$47.97bn</strong>
Foreign investors last week sold a net NT$47.97 billion (US$1.73 billion) of local shares after buying a net NT$42.43 billion a week earlier, the Taiwan Stock Exchange said in a statement yesterday. As of Friday, foreign investors had bought NT$24.42 billion of local shares from the beginning of this year, it said. Taipei, Jan. 23 (CNA) An additional 30 people who work at the Farglory Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Taoyuan have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the number of cases reported there to 100, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) yesterday reported 52 local COVID-19 cases, including 30 linked to Taoyuan businesses and 15 linked to Kaohsiung Harbor.
The remaining seven cases include a cluster of four three family members and a friend in Taipei and New Taipei City, two cases linked to a Tasty Steak (西堤牛排) restaurant in Taoyuan’s Jhongli District (中壢) and one case in Yilan County, said Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung (陳時中), who heads the center.
