Buzdar approves revamping of DGPR Lahore LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved revamping the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR). The chief minister accorded this approval while addressing a meeting attended by Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, SACM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, chief secretary, Planning and Development chairman and DGPR to review the future roadmap. The chief minister approved procurement of two Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) vans along with the establishment of a state-of-the-art studio while four directorates would be technologised to meet the modern day needs. The print media, electronic media, digital media, administration, advertisement, press laws, IT and legal sections will be re-jigged and all the directorates will be provided with the latest information and communication technology tools to optimally perform, the meeting decided. The Punjab cabinet on Monday approved the procedure for allotment of flats in Lahore Development Authority City Naya Pakistan Apartments. DawnNewsTV/File LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet on Monday approved the procedure for allotment of flats in Lahore Development Authority (LDA) City Naya Pakistan Apartments under Section 19 of The Management and Transfer of Properties by Development Authorities Act 2014. The 41stcabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar authorised the LDA to enter into an agreement with the Bank of Punjab for the project, as 4,000 apartments would be constructed in the first phase. One flat would cost around Rs2.7 million. A 50 per cent quota will be reserved for the public, 20pc for provincial government employees, 10pc for federal government employees and another 20pc will be allocated to LDA officials. The chief minister also directed to reserve a special quota for journalists and lawyers.

Universal health programme approved

Universal health programme approved LAHORE: Punjab cabinet has approved a universal health coverage programme to offer health insurance to entire population of the province by December 2021, besides winding up of anti-terrorism courts (ATCs) in Sargodha and Rawalpindi. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired the 40th meeting of the provincial cabinet held on Monday. The cabinet also constituted a ministerial committee to ensure implementation of the universal health insurance programme in a timely manner. Moreover, the cabinet also approved establishment of Thal University in Bhakkar to bring the underdeveloped region on par with developed cities. Official sources said it also gave in-principle approval of amendments to the Evacuee Trust Properties and Displaced Persons Laws (Repeal) Act, 1975.

Political circus of PDM has ended, says Firdous Top Story January 26, 2021 LAHORE: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the Punjab cabinet has approved the universal health coverage programme to provide health insurance to 100 per cent population of the province by December 2021, adding that the funds of Rs65 billion are being allocated for this welfare project. These views were expressed by the Special Assistant to CM in a post-cabinet press conference at 90-SQA on Monday. Talking to media, Dr Firdous said that the cabinet has accorded approval to establish Lahore Central Business District Development Authority to promote business activities at Walton airport and its surrounding areas besides providing facilities to investors on priority basis.

Past rulers did not meet health needs of growing population: Punjab CM Usman Buzdar

National December 20, 2020 LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar gave approval to include the project of 1000-bed hospital on Ferozpur Road in Annual Development Programme. He directed for resolving the issues related to transfer of land allocated for the hospital at the earliest and said the general hospital is being constructed in Lahore after 30 years. He said rulers of previous governments did not bother to increase health amenities keeping in view the increasing population of the provincial metropolis. Every citizen of Punjab will be provided Sehat Insaf Card by 2021 as it is the commitment of the incumbent government to provide health coverage to its every citizen, the CM said.
