place. this is outnumbered, i m harris faulkner here with my cohost kayleigh mcenany, joining us today carley shimkus, martha maccallum, and bill hemmer. it s can it be great. no word from the fbi or the justice department yet since yesterday s early morning raid at mar-a-lago. however, fox news learned it was part of an investigation into the handling of classified presidential records which begin earlier this year after 15 boxes of documents had already been transferred from his florida estate. yesterday the fbi executed a search warrant looking for more material they claim the warmer president took with them after he left the white house in 2021. the raid drew outrage from trump supporter s who quickly gathered outside mar-a-lago. the former president was in new york at the time and issued the statement. these are dark times for our nation. a beautiful home, mar-a-lago, and palm beach, florida, is currently rated and occupied by a large group of fbi agents. none of that
the secret service certainly has more explaining to do. the department of homeland security, which houses the secret service, really needs to take more of a leadership role in helping to manage this response to congress and get to the bottom of what has happened to these messages. i think congressional overseers at this point but they really need to start asking from the secret service and from dhs is whether the steps that they are taking to determine first of all, whether any of these messages are still recover -able. i think i am holding out, don, that there is still a possibility that this agency will be able to turn up more of these messages. let s not forget, the secret service is a law enforcement agency. it is an investigative agency. and a half substantial forensic capabilities. so recovering messages, investigating what happened here, it actually is something that they are quite capable of doing and congress needs to really press in terms of what are the steps the

other grand jury material. but what is now public tells a damning story about the former twice impeached president who, by the way, is the one who originally called for the affidavit to be released. trying to play chicken with the doj before they called his bluff. now, first in the government s 13-page memo explaining the rationale for the redactions they said parts must remain sealed to, quote, protect the safety and privacy for a significant number of witnesses in addition to law enforcement. in other words, the fbi s probable cause was not based on a single informant but a number of different witnesses likely having to be people inside the trump s orbit and i m sure that fact is not sitting well with donald tonight. and the affidavit explains why many of them might have cooperated. it describes in specific detail the nature of some of the documents that were just laying around trump s golf resort. in 15 boxes of documents returned to the national archives in january the fb
