Indiana reported 3,733 new COVID-19 cases Thursday and an additional 64 deaths, as the state crossed 600,000 cases since the start of the pandemic.
For the past 10 days, the state has seen the seven-day average for new cases fall, suggesting that the virus may be not spreading as successfully as it had in the past.
The decreases follow the state’s decision at the end of December to change the way it calculates advisory levels, which left more counties facing the strictest level of restrictions. These include limiting social gatherings to 25, encouraging curbside pickup for businesses, and limiting senior center activities.
