A police constable was killed in an exchange of fire with alleged robbers in Mohlanwal on Tuesday night.
Police Constable Muhammad Qaisar was son of police martyred. His father lost his life in a blast in front of Data Darbar a few years back.
ASI Azhar Abbass said he was on patrol in the Sundar area along with a police team on a van when they received a call on 15 that a few suspects were looting citizens. As the police team reached the spot, the suspects had escaped Sundar. They followed the suspects and intercepted them near Automobile Market adjacent Binoon Factory Multan Road where they were looting a shop Kashif autos.

LAHORE:The funeral prayers of martyred Constable Muhammad Qaisar, who lost his life last night in police encounter with four dacoits at Mohlanwal Sundar area were offered at District Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh on Wednesday.
Provincial Minister Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal, Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani, CCPO Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal, DIG Operations Sajid Kiani, DIG Security Mehboob Rashid, SSPs, divisional SPs, brothers and other family members of the martyred Constable and a large number of Police Officers and Jawans attended the funeral. Special prayers were offered for the departed soul of Shaheed constable M Qaisar at this occasion whereas a contingent of Police presented salute to the martyred constable as well. LAHORE: The Punjab government has intensified the crackdown on profiteers across the province, arresting 719 persons and lodging 1406 FIRs in the last 10 days during the holy month of Ramazan.
The price control magistrates also imposed fines of about Rs 34.5 million during the raids conducted in different cities. The report on the crackdown was presented at a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal. The Chief Secretary Punjab, Additional Chief Secretary, secretaries of Food, Agriculture and Industries department, Commissioner Lahore, Cane Commissioner Punjab and relevant officers attended the meeting while the divisional commissioners participated through video link.

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi summoned Punjab Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal and ex-provincial minister for food Samiullah Chaudhry in the sugar subsidy case on May 4.
According to the sources, the NAB investigation has sought the record of subsidy given to the sugar mills of Punjab from the year 2018 to 2019.
The sources said that they have also been directed to bring the record of permission for sugar export.
