Industrial Gym on Brunel Drive, Newark, is fined after opening facility during national lockdown

A Newark gym owner who opened their facility to customers despite it being illegal to do so has been fined.
Officers from Newarkâs neighbourhood policing team attended the Industrial Gym on Brunel Drive, Newark, on Wednesday, January 13, after intelligence suggested the premises was open.
When police arrived, two people were found to be using the gym and the owner was spotted by eagle-eyed officers sat in a car outside the building.

The owner, a man in his 40s, was issued with an £1,000 fine for failing to comply with requirements for certain businesses to close. The two gym goers, a man in his 30s and a man in his 50s, were fined £200 each.
