Ralton Juan Christopher Koetaan, 34, pleaded guilty to killing Jean Lombaard, 67, for failing to pay him for sex in April 2019.
He told the court he hit Lombaard in the head repeatedly with a grass slasher handle until he fell to the ground.
The Gqeberha High Court sentenced Koetaan to life in prison for the murder.
A 34-year-old man, Ralton Juan Christopher Koetaan, who pleaded guilty in February to killing Gqeberha smallholder, Jean Lombaard, 67, for failing to pay for sex in April 2019, has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
The sentencing comes two months after Koetaan told the Port Elizabeth High Court in February that he used a grass slasher handle to repeatedly hit Lombaard in the head until he fell.

Police constable Nosicela Kamba, 32, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her constable boyfriend Vuyo Matshishi in 2017.
Kamba s friend, Lunga Mbono, carried out the murder on instruction of Kamba, who complained that she was tired of Matshishi s infidelity.
Mbono also killed Matshishi s cousin, Melikhaya Nqono, in an attempt to thwart an attempted murder case opened against Kamba by Matshishi s other girlfriend, Ndileka Booi.

In the same case, Kamba s friend, Lunga Mbono, 38, was sentenced to two terms of life imprisonment for the murders of Matshishi and his cousin, Melikhaya Nqono, in 2016 and 2017.
An Eastern Cape police constable and her friend were handed triple life sentences in the Port Elizebeth High Court after being found guilty of the gruesome murders of her policeman boyfriend and his cousin.
Police constable, Nosicelo Kamba, 32, and her friend, Lunga Mbono, 38, were given a collective three life imprisonment term in court on Wednesday.
In handing down the sentence, acting Judge Hannelie Bakker, said Kamba was meant to uphold the law and instead she had chosen to plan and execute a murder.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson Anelisa Ngcakani said the pair had been found guilty of murdering a police constable, Vuyo Matshishi, and his cousin, Melikhaya Nqono in 2017 and 2016, respectively.
