Direct tax collections stood at Rs 11,35,754 crore, as on December 17, 2022, up by 19.81 per cent against Rs 9,47,959 crore recorded in the corresponding period of last year, officials said.
Gross collection of tax on corporate and individual earnings jumped nearly 31 per cent so far in the current fiscal year to Rs 10.54 lakh crore, the tax department said on Friday.
The tax department said that the growth rate for Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Personal Income Tax (PIT) in terms of gross revenue collections stands at 16.73% and 32.30% respectively.
