RANCHI: After testing drives were started at the city’s schools, 25 students of Indira Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya (IGBAV) in Bundu were found to be Covid-19 positive in the last 48 hours. Meanwhile, schools across the state capital said they would wait for some time before switching over to offline classes for the new academic session and continue with the online classes amid a surge in the number of fresh cases.
Regional deputy director (education) Arwind Vijay Bilung said, “Tests were conducted at IGBAV after some of the students developed symptoms. Four students were found positive on Wednesday and were isolated within the hostel, but the tally rose to 25 on Thursday after 21 others tested positive through rapid antigen tests.” The reports of many other students are awaited.
