By Josh Giles Writer Every year, the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Council (I-SPARC) hand out awards to some of British Columbia’s best youth athletes. This year, six Indigenous youth were selected as outstanding in their own right. Jakob Brager of Mid-Island Métis, Ellashani George of Oneida Nation of the Thames, Megan McCool of Métis Nation BC, Tristan Thomas of Snuneymuxw First Nation, Willem Whitehead of We Wai Kai Nation, and Kristine Williams of Cowichan Tribes were awarded. The nomination process began all across British Columbia to find some of the best and brightest Indigenous athletes under the age of 25-years-old.
