LankaWeb – COVID patients free to choose Ayurvedic or Western treatment at Ayurvedic hospital

Posted on May 6th, 2021 Courtesy The Daily Mirror When a COVID patient is admitted to an Ayurvedic Hospital, he/she has the freedom to choose the treatment he/she receives is Ayurvedic or Western, State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control Minister Sudarshani Fernandopulle said. She said this during a meeting held to finalise the decision to use Ayurvedic hospitals in the country as Intermediate Care Centres to treat COVID patients. The discussion held with the participation of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health State Minister Sisira Jayakody, Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena, Ayurvedic doctors and other relevant officials today.

Posted on May 2nd, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana State Minister Sisira Jayakody says that permission has been granted to utilize Ayurveda Hospitals to treat coronavirus patients. He stated that State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle has permitted Ayurveda Hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients. Accordingly, the Ayurveda Hospitals in Rajagiriya, Navinna and Pallekele have been granted permission to commence treating COVID-19 patients, he said. The COVID patients directed to these hospitals will be provided with Ayurvedic indigenous medicines, the State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health said.  Leave a Reply

Don t experiment online Ayurvedic recipes to combat COVID

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan authorities have urged the general public to refrain from experimenting with online ayurvedic recipes which claim to be useful to combat COVID-19. The State Ministry of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurveda Hospitals Development, and Community Health​ said it is paramount to have an understanding of the ingredients of an ayurvedic recipe and their use. The State Ministry urged the general public to always consult the State Ministry, Department of Ayurveda, Provincial Departments of Ayurveda, and other related agencies. It further went on to note that local medicines should only be used in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Health Ministry.
