The Nebraska track and field team hits the road for the fifth straight week as the Huskers head to Champaign, Illinois for the Fighting Illini Big Ten Relays on Friday and Saturday.
Both days are set to begin with field events at 9 a.m. Running events will begin at 1:50 p.m. on Friday. The women’s 10K will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, followed by 14 relay events.

The Huskers are entering the final two weeks of the regular season before they turn their attention to the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Next weekend, NU will compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana. After a weekend off, the Huskers will return to Champaign, Illinois for the Big Ten Championships.

Judi Jones won the 3,000-meter steeplechase title. She posted a personal-best time of 10:04.75, the third-fastest time in school history. She was seven seconds faster than the next closest finisher. It marked Jones’ eighth career individual collegiate win on the track and second in the steeplechase.
Dais Malebana also cracked the all-time top-10 charts with a time of 3:43.87 in the 1,500 meters. Malebana placed fourth overall in the race, and his time was the ninth-best ever in Nebraska outdoor history.
