Chikkamagaluru, Apr 29: After testing negative twice in 10 days, a 32-year-old man from Chikkamagaluru died at a designated Covid hospital in Shivamogga on Wednesday evening, a day before his marriage. Tests conducted after his death confirmed he had Covid, a family member said.
He was cremated as per covid guidelines in his village on Thursday, barely hundreds of metres from a choultry that was to host his marriage.
Prutviraj DM, from Devarakodige in Koppa taluk of Chikkamagaluru district, returned home from Bengaluru two weeks ago after the government decided to impose night curfew in eight big cities to stem the rising tide of Covid cases.

VOV.VN - Vietnamese photographer Vu Manh Cuong has been awarded the gold prize at the fourth Shadow International Contest in India.

The photo, featuring the beauty of terraced fields, claimed the leading prize in the competition’s tourism category.
Elsewhere in the contest, Vietnamese photographer Nguyen Huu Dung was awarded an Honourable Mention.
Furthermore, the outstanding works of nine other Vietnamese photographers are also to be displayed at the competition’s exhibition which will be held from April 24 to April 25.
The Shadow International Contest, organised by Worlds of Shadow, is under the sponsorship of the Federation of Indian Photography (FIP) and the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).
