Dr Kajal Sharma, an Indian lecturer, who won a discrimination case against the University of Portsmouth, has been awarded over GBP 450,000 in compensation by an Employment Tribunal in England. The tribunal ruled that she was discriminated against for her race and accent due to unconscious bias. Her compensation may increase based on pension calculations.
