I know that service can mean sacrifice for families as well. Some of you serve at unaccompanied posts, which means that you are separated from your loved ones. When families deploy and spouses and children serve in their own way, we know that they dont always hear directly from the president. Returning home with wounds, some visible and some otherwise. Im going to speak a little bit tonight about that and read a few things. That commission was not exercising its authority and wasnt keeping americans safe as it should. Mark stepped up in a bipartisan fashion, he stepped up, and he ended up strengthening the Consumer Product Safety Commission through his efforts on the Senate Commerce committee.
