The RRR vs Maidaan clash continues to be the talking point for the third consecutive day. Bollywood, in particular, is still shocked that both films starring Devgn have been slotted for the Dussehra weekend in October 2021. Ditto for the distributors and exhibitors across PAN India.
ETimes got in touch with RRR producer D V V Danayya to know what makes him release RRR opposite Maidaan. Danayya simply said, Look, RRR has been sold out to the distributors. There is COVID all over us and therefore, there has been a delay in its release. I was under pressure from the distributors. Thereafter, we kept quizzing him that why he couldn t ward off his distributors demand and Danayya only kept repeating that he couldn t hear us clearly and eventually hung up. Post that, several calls and text messages to him and even SS Rajamouli (director of RRR ) failed to evoke any further response.
