Pricing, procurement and administration of vaccines to be made more flexible
The Centre has informed the Kerala High Court that its new Liberalized Pricing and Accelerated National Covid-19 Vaccination Strategy is aimed at incentivising the vaccine manufacturers to rapidly scale up their production and to attract new vaccine manufacturers.
In a statement filed in response to a few petitions challenging the liberalised pricing policy, the Centre submitted that it would make pricing, procurement and administration of vaccines more flexible and ensure augmented vaccine production as well as wider availability of vaccines in the country.
ICMR ready to offer Covaxin know-how to other firms

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is willing to share the know-how to produce the indigenously-developed Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin, with any company as the contract with co-developer Bharat Biotech is not close-ended.
Currently, Bharat Biotech has the sole licence to manufacture Covaxin, which it developed in collaboration with scientists from ICMR’s Pune-based National Institute of Virology (NIV).
An official involved with the developments told
BusinessLine that the terms and conditions agreed upon while transferring the Covid-19 vaccine technology was that Bharat Bio will pay the ICMR 5 per cent royalty on the net sales of Covaxin.

Arun Raste, executive director of National Dairy Development Board, will take over as the new Managing Director & CEO of agriculture focused National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange. His appointment is valid for five years.
Raste will join NCDEX in due course of time, said the exchange in a statement.
