The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has taken legal action against former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for allegedly using electricity illegally to illuminate his residence during Deepavali. The Congress party accused Kumaraswamy of using an unauthorized power connection, while he blamed a private decorator for the incident. Kumaraswamy has acknowledged his mistake and offered to pay any fines imposed by BESCOM.
The ruling Congress posted a video along with a statement on social media platform X, criticising the Janata Dal-Secular leader and son of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.
