Thousands of people turned out at testing sites last week, following a COVID-19 scare in the northern suburbs.
A Wollert man returned a positive test on Tuesday, May 11 after contracting the virus in hotel quarantine in Adelaide.
The man, who returned to Melbourne on May 4, developed symptoms on May 8 and was tested on May 10.
The man travelled on the Craigieburn train line on May 7, sparking concerns that hundreds of passengers had been exposed to the virus.
He visited Indiagate Spices and Groceries and Woolworths in Epping on May 8 while infectious, as well as Epping 7Eleven on May 6 and May 8.

The Victorian man who tested positive after completing hotel quarantine in South Australia has returned another positive test, but his three household contacts have not.
He underwent the mandatory 14-day quarantine period in South Australia after returning to Australia and arrived back in Victoria on May 4.
He began displaying COVID symptoms when he returned to his Wollert home on May 8 and got tested on May 10 before returning a positive result on Tuesday morning.
Victoria Health Minister Martin Foley outlined the tier-one sites the infected man visited. People who visited these sites must get tested and isolate for 14 days.

COVID-19 exposure sites have been identified in Epping, Altona North and Melbourne CBD after a Wollert man tested positive to the virus this morning.
Tier 1 exposure sites are the Melbourne CBD at Curry Vault Indian Restaurant and Bar between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Friday, May 7; Epping at Indiagate Spices and Groceries between 5pm to 6pm on Saturday, May 8; Epping Woolworths, at the corner of Cooper and High streets between 5.40pm and 6.38pm Saturday, May 8; and Altona North at the TIC Group front office all day on Thursday, May 6.
If you have been to a tier 1 exposure site within the times listed, you are to immediately isolate, get tested, quarantine for 14 days, and contact the Department of Health coronavirus hotline.
