Serum Institute of India Receives a Coronavirus Vaccine Purchase Order from the Centre:- The Indian government is all set for the mass distribution of the coronavirus vaccine in the country. Ahead of the vaccination drive, the Indian government today announced that it is all set to buy 11 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine from Serum Institute of India (SII) which is made in association with Oxford University and is named Covishield. The vaccine dispatches are expected to start from this evening. The officials of SII confirmed that they have received the purchase order from the government of India.
As per the sources, the vaccine will be available at a price of Rs 200 per vial. Covishield is developed by the University of Oxford along with AstraZeneca, a Swedish-British company.
