India reported 30,570 fresh COVID-19 cases today, 12.4 per cent higher than yesterday. The total active cases is 3,42,923. The government said so far 76.57 crore doses of vaccines have been administered across the country.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the existing containment guidelines for coronavirus pandemic till September 30 and asked the states governments to ensure no large gatherings take place during the upcoming festive season.
The Union Health Ministry on Friday released the second tranche of the 'India Covid-19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package' (ECRP-II package) to the states. The scheme aims to aid the states in ramping up their healthcare system in view of the third Covid-19 wave.
