India reported 15,940 new cases of Covid-19 cases on Friday, the Union Health Ministry said. With this, India's active caseload stood at 91,779 at the rate of 0.21 per cent, which was 88,284 at the rate of 0.20 per cent a day before.
Active cases rose by 3,495 in a day and now comprise 0.21 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.58 per cent, the health ministry said.
India yet again witnessed a spike in Covid cases with 13,313 fresh infections being reported in the past 24 hours against the previous day s 12,249 count, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.
India added 12,213 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, witnessing a 38.4 per cent jump from 8, 822 cases recorded yesterday. This is the first time since February 26 that the viral infections have crossed the 10,000-mark in a day.
