i want to ask you about yesterday s supreme court ruling that rejected the so-called independent state legislator theory. last night i talked to michael who was the person who convinced then president pence to not go along with trump s efforts to overturn the election. he said that he thought the court s decision is the most significant case for america s democracy since our founding almost 250 years ago. do you agree with him? is it that big? it was certainly a huge victory for our democracy. the court had to consider what really is a fringe theory. this notion of the independent state legislature theory, which would have said in essence that state legislatures operate independently of review by state court. totally inconsistent with our notion of checks and balances, it s going to have an impact in making sure that the election in 2024 will have the state legislatures appropriately circumscribed. with a decision going the other way, i d be very concerned that the state legislat
