KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition MPs were thrown into an outrage following the statement from Istana Negara, with some like Khalid Abdul Samad (PH-Shah Alam) openly calling for Muhyiddin s resignation.
Dr Maszlee Malik (Independent-Simpang Renggam) said if the Parliament does not compel Minister in the Prime Minister s Department Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and Muhyiddin to respond to the Palace statement, it could set a bad precedent for future leaders. If this matter is allowed to happen again, it would be a black mark in the nation s history, he added.
Gobind Singh Deo (PH-Puchong) subsequently raised Standing Orders 26(1)(P), saying that if there are no other pressing motions being tabled to the House, then the Speaker must prioritise a motion to cite Muhyiddin and Takiyuddin to the Rights and Privileges Committee.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15 The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) is targeting a 75 per cent marketability of graduates in Malaysia in 2021, said its Minister, Datuk Noraini Ahmad.
She said the percentage was fixed after taking into account the Covid-19 pandemic, which has also affected the country’s economy.
“The target also takes into account the expected unemployment rate issued by the Department of Statistics Malaysia,” she said when winding up the debate on the Supply Bill 2021 for the ministry in the Dewan Rakyat today.
