ALBANY — Town and county elections will move to even years after 2025, after Gov. Kathleen C. Hochul signed a bill to unify much of the state’s political calendar in
Minnesota, long a purple state, finally won a Democratic trifecta in 2022, allowing it to pass progressive policy for the first time in years. Its success, in spite of the odds, provides lessons for deep-blue states which have experienced legislative stagnation.
