RPM Access has sold the project to BHE Renewables, which is based in Des Moines.
Dustin Van Diepen with BHE says they’re excited to be in the area – and they have a couple goals as they begin a new relationship with the community.
The Independence Wind Farm will be located southwest of Manchester, starting on the west side of Highway 13 about two miles south of Highway 20 and extending about two miles north of Ryan. They’re expecting to construct nineteen wind turbines that will look pretty similar to the wind turbines near Greeley, but with a slightly larger turbine at 2.82 megawatts. The wind turbines are expected to arrive later this summer, with the project up and running by November. The power produced by the new wind turbines will be purchased by CIPCO, the Central Iowa Power Cooperative based in Marion.
