Income Tax department releases e-filing versions of ITR-1, ITR-2, and ITR-4 for FY 2023-24. Deadline for filing ITRs is July 31, 2024. Online and offline tools available for filing returns. Various ITR forms cater to different taxpayers needs and situations.
FM Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday highlighted that in the last five years, the focus of the government has been to improve the services of the taxpayers using reforms like faceless assessment, updated income tax returns and new Form 26AS.
The National Faceless Assessment Centre (NFAC), along with other centres and units, have been established by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The NFAC is in charge of conducting an assessment of your income-tax returns if they are picked up in scrutiny.
