They use a Consumer Reporting Agency that told us California Law prevents them from reporting the arrest to oober because it is more than seven years old. In a recent email oober said the background checks are safer and backer than the agency that oversees taxis in San Francisco. Their spokesperson told us cab drivers must have no prior convictions, and background checks go back for the entire adult life. There is no limit, seven years would have shown up.
