PROVINCETOWN The leadership at the Fine Arts Work Center will begin another transition March 1, just as officials there have renewed their commitment to greater diversity and inclusion.
Margaret Murphy, executive director from 2007 to 2012, will return in that role on a volunteer interim basis at the end of the month until the next leader is chosen. Officials expect a new executive director to take over May 1 based on a search that began in November.
Murphy will take the reins temporarily following the center staff and board of trustees re-emphasis this month on the importance of “diversity, belonging, equity and inclusion.” Center officials recently posted a lengthy statement on the fawc.org website about changes that have been and will be made in response to race-related concerns raised last year.
