hello again, everyone. thank you so much for joining me this sunday. i m fredricka whitfield. we re following breaking news on a damning new report with heartbreaking details into the massacre at robb elementary school in uvalde, texas. the report just released by the texas house investigative committee found systemic failures and egregious poor decision making by multiple entities including law enforcement, the school and the shooter s family. the report also says the attacker likely murdered most of the victims before responders were able to get to the school. 19 children and two teachers were killed in may when an 18-year-old gunman broke into the school and opened fire. we are joined now from uvalde, texas. this is the first we re hearing now in this report that in this fact-finding report that the committee believes that most of those 18 children and two teachers killed were killed before the first responders got there even though in the surveillance video you can hear r
earlier to discuss the findings before releasing the report. we will bring it to you when it begins. i m eric shawn. arthel: i m arthel neville. today s report comes days after the release of surveillance video from inside rob elementary school on the day of the shooting. we want to warn you that you may find this video disturbing. the video was obtained by the austin american statesman and [inaudible] tv and was edited into a shorter clip with some of the audio removed. it shows several officers standing in one of the school s hallways with while the shooter was still inside the building. it took 73 minutes to finally confront the shooter. today s report finds that nearly 400 officers were at the school. most of them state and federal law enforcement. senior correspondent casey steagall is live in uvalde with more. casey? yeah, arthel, as we speak, the victims families are still in that meeting with the state investigative committee here in uvalde. they are going over e

to do. yeah. they go down the hall and leave one of the shields behind, which supposedly was what they were waiting on, was all this equipment. but they still weren t making entry. that s right. they just heard additional shots fired. they still are not making entry. remind you, there have been 37 minutes between the last time we heard gunshots to now. the idea if they thought it was a bierarricaded situation or no longer an active shooter that is triggered, right? and it will be another half an hour before they make entry. i just want to talk about one of the victims, because i spoke to one of the mothers of the kids who survived. she told me her son remembers someone hearing a police officer say, hey, are you inside, do you need help? the kid answers back, yeah, we re in here. then the gunman shoots and kills him. that is happening now. it could have been in this moment. we just don t know. it s very hard to get that kind of specific information out of the c
