field and my view is the republican will go farther right and nominate somebody out of the mainstream. the choice between obama if it s not better next year, if the numbers are there next year, even michele bachmann god, hate to say that could win. eric: the cbo, by the way, nonpartisan said 8.5% through the election. over 8 through 2013. greg: he has to do himself a favor and stop extenting the unemployment. it would help him. bob: i see. let s stop unemployment. let s stop i got a new idea. conservative idea. cut food stamps. free lessons in dumper diving. greg: have you ever dumper dived? bob: i. andrea: what you are saying semily bob, the best hope for barack obama is that the republicans nominate someone that is so absolutely horrifying, that is the only way he can win. bob: if you take the current field, that qualifies all of them. eric: that is a slippery
years to get there they have to get the money from some place, not from us. i guess the arabs will put up the money. remember, only a couple of arab groups that joined the league against libya. there is anger still against those that did not. eric: quickly. french and the british, i m sure will make the loans. they are the ones who buy almost all of that libyan oil. they would be wise investment. andrea: leading from behind could be a smart strategy in case. greg, i want to ask you. gaddafi rap out of his come pound and we saw the footm of rebels storming the compound. wearing his clothing and ransacking his books. he said on a radio address though we don t know where he is, he said it was strategic move. we left because it was part of the big plan. greg: a great it s a great strategy to say it s strategic. when i come home drunk without my shirt on i tell my wife it s strategic. we talk whether it has to be boots on the ground or not.
slope. we ll talk about that current field and how they match up against obama on very recent polls. bob: go ahead. monica: two quick points. the fact we re talking about 8.5% unemployment in the united states as a good thing, as the new normal is not acceptable to the american people. just to agree with maxine waters here, i know the earth is probably going to separate because i m agreeing with her but she said last week, she said the unemployment is unconscionable. talking about the black community but it holds true for everybody. by the way, this election is not going to be about whoever the republicans put up. it will be a referendum about the unemployment. andrea: and the democrats were screaming and howling when bush had unemployment at 5-6%. they were screaming. bob: the new normal will be about 6%. eric: about what? bob: 6-7%. eric: do you understand how many jobs you have to create between now and 2012 bob: i said the new normal. eric: to get to 6%?
that is his plan. greg: when you stop unemployment benefits, people are more likely to look for work. andrea: that is his jobs plan going forward. the big speech that everybody is waiting for in september is more spending. more spending as you said, dumping more money to unemployment benefits, things that aren t stimulus. he is calling for a second stimulus to put us deeper. monica: the other point, we have never experienced numbers this big before. so when conservatives, republicans in the past, bob, said well, deficits don t matter, we have never been in this position where you actually have the debt approaching the entire size of the united states gdp. eric: is he electable in 2012 with 8.5% unemployment? bob: the argument that nobody has been elected with more than 7.42%, the problem is it s only five races. that s not astucitiesic. people vote for somebody. you have to put somebody up against him. i contend with the current
market. sound dollar. not exactly radical. these folks, take a look at congresswoman wilson and maxine waters. they are having a meltdown now because they know their ideology is under the gun. it s failing. they know that the tea party is do stennial threat existential threat. bob: the political virgin going too far. i met the tea party people and they have been in politics. you have to understand something here, so you are clear on this. i may not agree with this. we have don t agree with that. they are taking the things we believe in and rip it apart. so we take them on. eric: that is fine. but the vicious attacks. bob: what vicious attac attacks? eric: congresswoman jackson lee called the tea party constructio ku klux klan e hoods. andrea: they agree with a lot of things.
