Punjab Police has started compiling the data of serial pedophile convicts and so far the record of at least 9,760 child sexual abuse offenders has been saved.
According to officials concerned, special software has been developed for the purpose. The data includes details like Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC), family tree, area and bank account information. Once a person included in the list makes any transaction, an SMS will be sent to the police station concerned.
If a person in the list living as a tenant changes his place of residence, the police station concerned of his next residence will also be alerted about it.

Punjab Police went through a massive reshuffle during 2020 as hundreds of policemen from the rank of Inspector General of Police to constable rank were transferred or surrendered before the Establishment Division.
A few of the notable transfers included former IGP Shoib Dastaghir, former CCPO BA Nasir, former CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG Shehzada Sultan, SSP Liaqat Malik, SSP Zeeshan Asghar, SP Asim Iftikhar, SP Anoush Masood Chaudhry.
The first major reshuffle in 2020 was made on April 14. At least six additional inspector generals (add IGs), two Regional Police Officers (RPOs), 13 deputy inspector generals (DIGs) and two senior superintendents of police (SSPs) were transferred and posted. KASUR: On the order of Sheikhupura RPO Inam Waheed, Serai Mughal police on Saturday registered three rape cases while the SHO of the police station was suspended for negligence.
Sheikhupura RPO Inam Waheed was informed that the Serai Mughal police was not registering rape cases of minor girls. To it, the RPO reached Serai Mughal and met the affected parents and the victims and listened to their complaints. The RPO ordered registration of three rape cases on the spot.
The police also arrested an alleged suspect Yaseen. The RPO also suspended Serai Mughal police SHO Rab Nawaz for showing negligence and carelessness.
IGP takes notice of six girls’ rape

LHORE: The IGP Punjab has taken notice of six girls’ rape in Sarai Mughal, Pattoki.
He has sought a report from Sheikhupura RPO Dr Inam Waheed Khan. Following the IGP’s directions, Dr Inam visited Sarai Mughal and met the victims.
Meanwhile, the police launched a manhunt and managed to arrest the real culprit.
The accused was produced before the girls who also identified him. During the course of inquiry, Dr Inam found the SHO, Sarai Mughal, negligent with regard to handling the case in accordance with the law and suspended him.
