Arsenal’s opening offer for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is expected to be turned down.
The proposal was slightly below what Brentford are seeking but negotiations continue over a deal, which both parties are looking to complete.
Bayern Munich have also been pursuing Raya, but the 27-year-old favours a move to Arsenal, where he would be reunited with former Brentford goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana.
The north London club want the Spain international who has a year left on his contract to compete with current No 1 Aaron Ramsdale. Personal terms will not be an issue.
