the campus of the oldest historically black university in florida, where he was asked to identify himself. he would not, and then he was asked to leave. this afternoon, local authorities released the names of and ages of the victims. angela michel car was 52. jared dishon galleon was 29. and unaltered joseph la garry junior was just 19. again, all were black. jacksonville sheriff kiké waters gave a detailed timeline of the shooting, including this. at 1:18, the suspect s his father says, use a screwdriver to get into my room. the father enters the room, and finds a last will and testament, of the suspect, along with a suicide note on this laptop. at 1:19 and 21 seconds, officers entered the building, and begin to clear. just 11 minutes after this whole ordeal, the manifesto is
assault. again, motivated by race, we are talking about racist attacks, racist violence. you know, it s not lost on me that this latest heinous act of violence to place in jacksonville, just as activists and civil rights leaders took the podium in washington d.c., on the 16th anniversary of the march on washington. and yesterday, many speakers were calling for more action, on gun safety. we must and gun violence! i [applause] and then, maybe one day, we will be a great nation. we are not personifying a greatness right now. gun violence has come for our places of worship. our schools, and our shopping centers. and that s not the only problem, that earlier generations didn t expect, but my generation cannot escape.
and we ll find out more about the details. we haven t had school shootings. it has been summer for a couple months. i do need to remind people, we ve had no dearth of mass school shooting sthis week alone. as kids go back to school, we had a football gang shooting last night. so these are the things we anticipate as kids are going back to school, unfortunately. as part of, you know, america s school shooting problem. so we ll wait and see. and we have a mass shooting problem on top of that. and i was about to ask you that. we re not only talking about oklahoma and that football game shooting this weekend but also a the shoeing in boston. the shooting in boston. in maryland, and this in jacksonville. this problem continues. it is getting worse.
