Rab-2 Commanding Officer Lt Col Imran Ullah Sarkar disclosed the matter at a press briefing at the elite force s media centre in Karwan Bazar today. The arrestees are Tarikul Islam (23), Sinbad (23), Mim Mia (22), Emon (19), and Monir (28). Disguised as members of the wandering Bede community, they used to travel from one place to another, carrying stoves and cooking utensils, the Rab official said. To avoid suspicion, they used to sell various ornaments and accessories such as bangles, hair ribbons, children s belts, chains, safety pins, rings, etc.
