OGRA warns LPG profiteers of legal action

Daily Times July 17, 2021 Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday warned of stern and legal action against the elements that would be found involved in selling the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at exorbitant price. “Anyone who sells the LPG at higher than the notified price will be dealt according to the law,” OGRA spokesman Imran Ghaznavi said in a brief press statement. He said the authority had written the letters to all provincial chief secretaries asking them to take prompt action against whosoever found involved in selling the commodity in violation of OGRA’s notified rates and making a quick buck.

Hearings to set ERR, gas prices for SNGPL, SSGC postponed

Daily Times June 5, 2021 The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has postponed the public hearings, scheduled for June 7 and June 9, to determine Sui companies’ estimated revenue requirements (ERR) and prescribed price of gas for the fiscal year 2021-22. In a statement on Friday, OGRA Spokesperson Imran Ghaznavi said that new date of hearings on the petitions of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) would be announced by the authority through national dailies in due course of time. Earlier, the SNGPL and SSGC have sought an increase in the revenue requirement of Rs857.40 and Rs109.78 per million British thermal unit (MMBTU) respectively with effect from July 1, 2021.

Customs seals 1,800 petrol pumps, seizes petrol, diesel National February 7, 2021 LAHORE: Around 1800 petrol pumps were sealed out of 2600 petrol pumps which were identified as illegal by the Custom officials in a move against oil smugglers across the country. According to the documents available with The News, petrol worth Rs419,905,013 has been seized from these illegal petrol pumps while diesel worth Rs534,718,502 was also seized by the Custom officials. In Punjab, more than 1600 petrol pumps were identified as illegal and more than 1000 petrol pumps sealed by the Custom officials with cooperation of districts administrations concerned. Petrol worth Rs2, 595, 291 and diesel worth Rs3,126,133 has been seized by the Custom officials in the province.
