Galesburg man and Galesburg woman each charged with obstruction after giving GPD false names – in separate incidents.

A Galesburg man is facing a felony charge after Galesburg Police conducted a traffic stop on a sedan that committed numerous traffic offenses on Saturday night. While responding to another call, Galesburg Police observed the sedan's driver improperly using his turn signal several times and noticed the vehicle's registration was not properly displayed. The 44-year-old male driver gave officers a name and birth date that would later be determined to be false. The man told officers he did not have a driver's license because he didn't have a birth certificate. The man's 25-year-old female passenger was free to go. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Knox County Jail. The name the man gave came up as having "no record" according to police reports. It wasn't until police and jail staff went to the suspect's Facebook page that he was identified. The man was driving a vehicle registered to a woman that officers were aware he was in
