Kiev has filed lawsuits with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia because of their ban on the import of Ukrainian products, the Ukrainian Economy Ministry stated on Monday.
Poland will introduce a ban on the import of Ukrainian grain starting September 16, despite the decision of the European Commission not to extend the restrictions, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated on Friday.
The European Union said Friday it was ending an import ban on Ukrainian grain in five member states, but Poland, Hungary and Slovakia immediately announced they would defy the move. But despite the reassurances, Poland, Hungary and then Slovakia promptly announced they would extend the bans in their countries.

The Polish government has adopted a resolution that bans the import of Ukrainian grain after September 15 regardless of the decision of the European Commission, Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Robert Telus said on Tuesday.
