Over 200 Pak medical officers and doctors not paid four-month salaries due to unavailability of funds

Over 200 emergency doctors and medical officers appointed by the government to improve patient care in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have not received their salaries for four months due to a lack of funds. The officials revealed that the salary got delayed because of the unavailability of funds, long appointments and verification process by boards of Khyber Medical University and Pakistan Medical Commission, Dawn reported.

Due to the lack of funds, more than 225 doctors, including medical officers, emergency medical officers and specialists, appointed by the government to improve patient care in the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), haven t been paid salaries for four months, reported Dawn.
