Local organizations to honor Harvey Milk on May 22

May 7th, 2021 by Featured A virtual wreath laying ceremony will be held from the Harvey Milk Memorial Bench in Balboa Park. Volunteers are needed. The Equality Business Alliance, the Imperial Court de San Diego, San Diego Remembers, and the San Diego LGBT Visitors Center, will host a virtual event on on Saturday, May 22 to honor the late Harvey Milk on what would be his birthday. A virtual wreath laying ceremony will be from the Harvey Milk Memorial Bench in Balboa Park and community members are encouraged to tune in. The wreath ceremony carries on the festive tradition of those who gather each May 22, to celebrate the life and legacy of Harvey Milk, while also educating park visitors on the impact he made in our world.
