today, their party is? shambles. they can t get over the 2016 election, they haven t a clue how to beat hem in 2020. that s pretty obvious. reporter: democrats now plotting their next move and whether impeachment procedures are still on the table. today was a watershed day in telling the facts to the american people. with those facts, we can proceed. but house speaker nancy pelosi threw cold water on the idea, at least for now. the fact that why i d like it to be a strong case is because i don t it s based on the facts. the facts and the law. that s what matters, not politics, not partisanship, just patriotism. pelosi privately told her caucus to do what s best for them, but pushed back on the notion for some members that not pursuing geechment is a violation of our still duties. it s not about our caucus. it s about our country.
i m not so sure that the formal impeachment procedures would be much different than we are pursuing now in trying to get information. that s what those proceedings would be ability, getting informs about to see whether or not such action was justified. but having said that, wolf, the reports of the members is overstated in terms of their demands on either speaker pelosi or myself. they are thoughtful discussions, measured discussions. they think some think it s time to move on a more formal way, and some say, well, i think that may be warranted, but i think the way you are proceeding is justified and may well lead to the results that i want. i know you got to run. there s an important vote on the house floor on the dream and promise act. i m going to let you go, but let s continue this conversation down the road. steny hoyer thanks so much for joining us. thank you, wolf, appreciate
