WWE Signs Former Impact World Champion, Appears at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day

WWE Signs Former Impact World Champion, Appears at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day ✖ WWE has signed former Impact World Champion Eli Drake to a contract, according to a report from PWInsider. Drake originally signed with WWE as a Performance Center trainee back in 2013 under the name Slate Randall, but was used primarily as a jobber until he was released from his contract in August 2014. He then developed a following in Impact Wrestling, working for the promotion from 2015-19 and holding Impact World, Impact World Tag Team and TNA King of the Mountain Championships once apiece. He made the jump to the National Wrestling Alliance in 2019 and won the NWA World Tag Team Championships with James Storm in January 2020. The pair lost the titles in November and Drake was quietly released from the company.

X-Division title match announced for Impact No Surrender

An X-Division title match has been announced for No Surrender. TJP will defend the championship against Rohit Raju at the Impact Plus event that takes place on February 13. This comes after Raju defeated TJP in a match on tonight’s episode of Impact after Mahabali Shera made his return to the promotion by aligning himself with his former Desi Hit Squad team mate, attacking TJP. TJP had won the title as Manik in a triple threat match against Raju and Chris Bey at last month’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view event. The stipulation had been that TJP could not challenge Raju while Raju still had the title. After TJP won the title and the ruse was revealed, Scott D’Amore then set a rematch between the two for this week’s Impact.
