Link Between Alzheimer s and Gut Is Confirmed

Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Biomarkers Predict Survival, Disease Progression

Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Biomarkers Predict Survival, Disease Progression by Pooja Shete on  January 29, 2021 at 12:21 AM The study conducted by Dr. Yuji Morine from the Tokushima University Graduate School is published in the Impact Journal LLC. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most prevalent human cancer and it is also the third-highest cause of cancer-related death in the world. The incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma is increasing. The researchers mainly focused on the changes in the genomes of tumor and non-tumor cells of patients with HCC in order to identify the mechanisms of tumor progression and hepatocarcinogenesis. A study was conducted to investigate the relationships between tumor phenotype and TBX15 mRNA expression. It was found that in tumor tissues, TBX15 mRNA was significantly lowered as compared to those of non-tumor tissues.

Link Between Alzheimer s and Gut Confirmed

Link Between Alzheimer’s and Gut Confirmed Alzheimer’s disease continues to be a leading cause of death in the United States, with 1 in 3 seniors dying with Alzheimer’s or dementia more than the number killed by breast and prostate cancers combined.1 While a cure has remained elusive, the connection between brain health and gut microbiota has grown clearer, and research suggests that the bacteria in your intestines may influence brain functioning and can even promote neurodegeneration.2 A team of Swiss and Italian researchers has taken the correlation a step further, with research showing a connection between imbalanced gut microbiota and the development of amyloid plaques in the brain;3 Alzheimer’s is characterized by an accumulation of beta-amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in the brain.
