CHEYENNE The Wyoming Department of Transportation is cautioning motorists this afternoon to watch for increasing wind along the Interstate 80 corridor beginning late this afternoon and into Thursday morning.
The latest WYDOT Road Impact Forecast reports crosswinds along I-80 will likely reach 70 miles per hour, and some sections may see that velocity reach 80 mph or higher.
Those strong winds will bring blowing and drifting snow, black ice conditions, and generally poor travel conditions around southern, eastern and central Wyoming for the next few days. The forecast has prompted WYDOT to issue a high-impact warning along I-80 and I-25 beginning tonight around 5 pm to 8 am on Thursday morning.
