Photo by R Bhaskar TRICHY: General secretary of actor Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) M Muruganandam resigned from the party on Wednesday. Addressing a press meet in Trichy, he said the present undemocratic atmosphere in the party had forced him to resign from the party post and its basic membership with immediate effect. Many of the founding members of the party and the recent entrants have been tendering their resignations one after another due to their differences with Kamal. Muruganandam said he had been given a free hand and independence when he had joined the party. It had helped him work to his fullest capacity to develop the party, he said.
