turn then back. it is part of the law. we re not talking about the law here as not being abided by. and this president said, let us deal with immigration reform. let s deal with this. no one is more plugged into this issue than you have been talking to everybody. what are you hearing in the community out there? what needs to happen to move this immigration reform forward, jose? first of all, if the house would at least do their job and deal with democrats, republicans, liberals and conservatives, agree that immigration system is broken, right? by wishing it went away, it won t go away. if there had been immigration reform, take the senate bill passed a year ago. or make it a straight republican bill that has been discussed in the house. all of these issues would have been dealt with. if you have the legalization,
about to be sort of sound like he was pro-immigration. this is not a part where the base feels comfortable with. i wasn t sure what jeb was trying to do in those comments. he made them very frank and very honest, and he also came out for common core, which is an education proposal that s basically a national education standard. that also very unpopular with the conservative base. he sounds to me like someone who wants to be president but maybe doesn t want to run in the republican primary for president where you have to be more conservative than that if you want to do well. a lot of people want to be president without the primary. it s actually true. i think is he trying to be the adult in the room sort of thing, and use the moral language to try to help push the idea of immigration reform forward, but, you know, really i want to talk to you about the mchutchin decision, which i find rather frightening in temz of its implications for the future. obviously i think republicans will
million estimated to be people who are living in this country who can undocumented who happen to be gay gay or transgender. the conversation should not be posed as this dichotomy of, well, a couple of gay couples are trying to take forward. if we move any immigration reform forward, that s going to do a whole lot. robert costa, this is part of the immigration package, does the package happen? it s a great question, craig. the president s going to have to make a key political decision on immigration. he s dealing with a republican house and a democratic senate that has republican senators such as marco rubio who are willing to work to broker a compromise. if the president really pushes too hard, republicans may walk away from the table and any chance of immigration reform may just disappear. the president s going to have to find a way to find compromise. that s the only way immigration reform gets through congress. do you think that we will see more of a left leaning agenda
