IMLAY CITY, MI More than 100 Imlay City residents attended a public forum about the possibility of disbanding the Imlay City Police Department Thursday.
In a more than three-hour-long meeting at the Eastern Michigan State Fair Grounds in Imlay City Thursday, April 29, dozens spoke out against disbanding the department.
After nearly 40 years in law enforcement, Imlay City Police Chief Scott Pike announced plans to retire this year.
For the department long-term, a committee has been discussing multiple options moving forward, including having the police department disbanded with officers instead managed by the sheriff.
