Actor Ayushmann Khurrana was the only Indian to be honoured at this year’s TIME 100 Impact Awards. The actor travelled to the US to accept the award, which he got for his unusual film choices and philanthropic work with UNICEF and other non-profit organisations. On Monday, Ayushmann shared a post of himself receiving the award and his speech – which included a shloka from the Bhagavad Gita – won fans over.
Ayushmann was representing India at the prestigious global event. He further said, “It is a humbling moment for me to be recognised as an artiste by the prestigious TIME Magazine! I’m here to represent India’s moment under the sun and I’m proud of the fact that india is becoming a fulcrum of progressive story telling through cinema.”
